Summary: I highly recommend The Davenport Inn in Portsmouth NH. We recently stayed 2 nights for a quick weekend getaway. The property has been tastefully restored as a modern inn that retains its old-world historic property charm. Extremely clean and well maintained. This hidden gem with only 8 rooms is top of its class for a boutique hotel. The location to downtown is perfect being only a few minutes stroll through historic period neighborhoods. The concept of no onsite staff works well only communicating through text or calls. This also gives you an added sense of privacy. The owners are always available if anything is needed and checks in with you to ensure all your needs are met. The daily homemade goodies adds that personal touch not often seen. Keep this one on your short list.
